The sower went out to sow His seeds (Luke 8:5 )

John 15:1-4

" 'I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine-dresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.' "

We are the land of His kingdom. In order to be transformed, we need Him to come and work. But in order for Him to come and work, we need to ask Him to do so. How then, will we know what to ask of Him? He indeed shows us and those who accept will see. The struggles or difficulties we face often point to the area He wants us to notice and ask for work in it.

Do you have a certain person/situation in your life that you wish to be rid of? It might even be something that is spiritually hindering. What does it bring about from inside you? Anger? Jealousy? Lust? How do you interpret this work in your life, given the church season we are in?

Lord,

My first reaction to situations that discomfort me is always to escape or flee. But I want to grow in knowing Your ways. I want to invite You, gardener of the land of my being, to work in me. Open my eyes to the things You are trying to reveal. Help me realize that hard times and tribulations are means for you to work in and through me. I want to have the same mindset as You. Amen.
