Priests

Fr. Bishoy Andrawes is St. Mark's senior priest and has been serving the congregation at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Washington, DC since 1997. Previously, he served at Virgin Mary and St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church in Mississauga, Canada for about 2 years. In 2007, Fr. Bishoy was elevated to the rank of Hegomen (archpriest) by H.H. Pope Shenouda, III.

Fr. Bishoy has a special gift for helping couples and those experiencing difficulties in family life. Fr. Bishoy is a true visionary, who faithfully leads his people and constantly pushes the congregation live "outside of their comfort zone.”

He grew up in Egypt and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Fr. Bishoy is married to Irinie Andrawes and is the proud father of 2 boys, Meshach and Daniel Andrawes.

Fr. Paul Girguis recently became a priest at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, ordained on March 3, 2009. In 1997, Fr. Paul began serving the youth ministry at St. John Coptic Orthodox Church in Covina, California. He led the youth there on several missionary trips to Africa, Mexico, and Hawaii. In 2005, Fr. Paul and his wife, Sherry, served the Coptic Mission in Kenya for 6 months, and again in 2008 for 7 months.

God has given Fr. Paul the grace to encourage and build people through outreach ministries such as the Young Adult Ministry and Light and Life.

He grew up in California and has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, and Business Law. Fr. Paul is married to Sherry Girguis and is the proud father of Daniel, Timothy and Joshua Girguis.

Fr. Domadious Rizk also recently became a priest at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in 2011. After being ordained in 1999, Fr. Domadious served alongside his father, Fr. Sarabamon, at St. Mary’s Church in Imbaba, Egypt. In 2002, he was asked to serve in the Netherlands and  joining served at St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church of Roanoke, VA before joining St. Mark's.

Fr. Domadious has the rare and deep knowledge of our rich Church history and is a visionary in the expansion and spread of the Kingdom of God not only in our area, but all around the world.

Fr. Domadious graduated in 1993 from the Faculty of Medicine and worked as an anesthesiologist at Coptic Hospital from 1995 to 1999. Fr. Domadious is married to Loris Shalaby and is the proud father of 2 boys, Ephraiem and Pierre Samuel.
